Developing student leaders at the college level is important in improving the quality of their organizations, the environment at Tulane University, and helping create a vital, engaged, and involved student community. The overall benefit to quality student leadership development is that it successfully prepares students for future employment, working with others, and transforming communities. At Tulane University’s Student Organization Leadership Retreat (SOLR), you will explore and begin to master leadership skills and embrace distinct core values and principles of leadership to inform successful decisions and actions.
At the heart of SOLR is student involvement, participation, and collaboration. Coordinated by a planning team comprised of student leaders, staff, and faculty, this dynamic retreat is designed to provide you with the opportunity to unleash your leadership potential and to develop the essential skills needed for effective leadership. SOLR is geared primarily for continuing undergraduate students. If you're an experienced leader, an organization president or other officer, or interested in developing a deeper understanding of leadership, then SOLR is for you! At least one member of each student organization should attend. Your organization will benefit greatly from being represented at this retreat.
